Our Beliefs

God

There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. He is the apex of unchanging beauty, holiness, and perfection whom all good gifts come from. God is also all-powerful and all-knowing; and His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future, including the future decisions of His free creatures. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience.

Trinity

We believe in one living and true God eternally existing as one essence and three persons as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. Each person of the Godhead is fully and truly God, and perfect in unity and harmony with one another.

Scriptures

We believe that the Bible, the 66 books of the Old and New Testament, is the divinely inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God that has complete authority over all matters in principle and practice. All Scripture is true and trustworthy and a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation. Furthermore, all Scripture is actively used by God as sufficient means to bring people to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ alone, functioning as the complete standard by which all human conduct should be assessed.

Humanity

We believe that every man and woman is created in the image of God and possesses intrinsic dignity and worth.

Complementarianism

We believe that men and women are absolutely
equal in essence, dignity and value but are distinct by divine design. As part of God’s good created order, men and women are to have different yet complementary roles and responsibilities in the home and church. As it relates to the church, men and women are both expected to lead; however, the office of elder is reserved for qualified men. We recognize and affirm many vital roles that women play in establishing and building up the local church.

Sin

We believe in the original sin that was caused by Adam and Even when they were deceived by the Serpent and disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, thus condemning all of humanity to possess a depravity that is in opposition to God from birth. We believe sin has fractured all things, causing eternal separation between God and humanity, leaving the world in desperate need of salvation.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense, salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.

Church

We believe in the universal church, who include all the
redeemed saints from every age, from every tongue, people and nation who are united by the Spirit through the saving faith in Christ who Himself serves as Head of theChurch. The ultimate purpose of the Church is to bring glory to God throughout the world by making disciples in every nation. We believe in the local church which is a local expression of the universal church that consists of an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, observing the two ordinances of Christ (Baptism and the Lord’s Supper). We believe in the elected scriptural officers of the church, (pastors and deacons) who are called to instruct and serve the congregation, accountable to the Lord for the state of their souls.

Baptism and Communion

We believe that there are two ordinances of the
Church instituted by Christ as demonstrations of our faith in Christ: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The first one is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, as a profession of faith in Christ. The other is the Lord’s Supper, the breaking of bread and drink in commemoration of Christ’s sacrifice and death on the cross. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Religious Liberty

We believe each local church is independent and must be free from interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority; that therefore Church and State must be kept separate as having different functions, each fulfilling its duties free from dictation or patronage of the other.

Marriage & Sexuality

We believe that in the biblical position of marriage
which involves the union of one man and one woman in permanent sacred fidelity. Though various cultures and customs have evolving definitions of marriage, it is God alone who has ultimate authority to prescribe and describe the marital relationship. Furthermore, sexual intimacy is only properly exercised and pursued within the confines of this marital relationship. Sexual immorality, defined as any sexual activity outside of the boundaries of the sacred marital relationship between one man and one woman, is clearly and expressly prohibited by the Lord.

Last Things

We believe that Jesus Christ is returning personally and visibly in glory to the world in the future to judge the living and the dead. On that day, God will bring the world to its appropriate end; the dead will be raised; and Christ will judge all men and women in righteousness. On that day, Satan, with his hosts and all the unrighteous will be sent to the place of everlasting punishment. The righteous in their resurrected and glorified bodies will receive their reward and will dwell forever in Heaven with the Lord, praising and giving Him unending praise and glory. Then, all will be made new and perfect and the whole earth shall proclaim the glory of God, the One who makes all things new.
